The Lower School Student Council met this week to cast a vote for our next Dress Down Day, set up the School Store with new merchandise, and hand out the rotation schedule.

Let's back up and see how we started this year. Each of the Third and Fourth Grade classes hold an election for a classroom representative. Students who are interested in running for this position present a short speech to their classmates on why they want to represent their homeroom and become part of the Student Council.

Once all voting is in, and the winners are announced in each of the classes, the Student Council gets to work, planning out what changes and new ideas they have for this school year. Guided by the Head of Lower School, Mrs. Gammage, the students take on what will be the next month's Dress Down Day, Fun Food Friday, School Store merchandise and other critical student-driven programs within our school.

At the end of each year, the Student Council calculates the proceeds made from the School Store (minus its expenses) to determine what they’d like to give the KRCS Lower School as a memento from their graduating class. At the end of each year, the Student Council calculates the proceeds made from the School Store (minus its expenses) to determine what they’d like to give the KRCS Lower School as a memento from their graduating class.
